I saw a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ descending and standing in a garden, while the garden had some shrubs, bushes and flowers and even fruits, it was currently overrun with some weeds and the shrubs had grown out of shape so it wasn’t particularly looking fantastic or arranged for optimal productivity.
When Jesus came, He brought with Him a portal of light from above and He brought shears and sickles to trim the shrubs and to clear out the clutter.
I saw Him even reaching out beyond the garden area into the kitchen and washing dishes, yes, actually washing dishes. So amazing right.
Let’s Break It Down.
What this signifies is that Jesus wants to help you declutter, clutter is anything that is scattered or disordered to fill an otherwise productive space, to the extent that it hinders movement or minimises effectiveness.
When a space is cluttered, the owner is unable to use it for its intended purposes and has to give in to working around the clutter and managing or coping with situations that they should take charge of.
Here are some of the ways clutter shows up:
- Being unable to conclusively think through a tough, limiting situation and have clear precise solutions to run with.
- Receiving insight from above but unable to effectively birth in the physical what was so clear in the place of prayer.
- Starting things with the intention of finishing but find oneself stopping halfway
- A mind that flies in different directions and gets preoccupied with different things apart from the very things it is supposed to be doing, a mind that forgets important information and blanks out on deliverables?
- A feeling of being overwhelmed and throwing in the towel even though the day has just started.
- A mind overtaken by negative emotions like anxiety and fear
- A physical space and work area that is cluttered and messy and a lack of motivation to cleanup, it’s a deep sign of what is going on within
- A putting off of tasks until the last minute and an insistence of over commit which leads to excessive multi-tasking.
- Symptoms that show up in the physical body such as headaches, mental strain, insomnia, eating disorders and a compromised immune system that makes one constantly susceptible to illnesses?
The list is endless, and you may have found one or two of these speak to what you are experiencing, it is most likely clutter and you have to prayerfully deal with it and welcome the Lord Jesus Christ into the space, welcome Christ into your mental space, your emotional space, your physical space and your body which is the space where you exist as well.
This verse where Jesus stands at the door knocking has always been attributed to salvation but I think that after being saved, we also need to proactively permit the Holy Spirit to show us so much more the spaces, arenas and rooms in our lives that we need to open up to the Lord Jesus Christ to come in and dine with us. It’s in doing this consistently that you can keep the clutter away, because clutter creeps in on you.
Revelation 3:20 NIV Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me
Matthew 11: 28-30 MSG “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Psalm 55:22: NIV Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Immediate Next Steps:
- Pray about where you are at, thank Him for shedding light on your situation, ask him to expose the darkness, ask the Lord Jesus to help you to declutter and to help you find peace and calm that is in Him. Ask Him to help you rediscover your genius zones and to utilize all that He has blessed you with everyday for His glory as you arise and shine God’s light into your world.
- Engage with the word of God, create by yourself, using the verses of scriptures a set of confessions that will literally move you from current clutter to a space of freedom and peace and calm, to a place of REST in God.
- Start detailing actionable steps you intend to take that will move you forward and actually start doing them. A step at a time, an action at a time, a different thought, a positive conclusion, a belief that when you do things differently this time around you will see great results. FAITH in Christ’s finished work on the cross for you.
Once you pray about it, believe you have the victory and start walking in the victory that God has given you.
I am praying for you too, you will see the salvation of the Lord in all the areas where you are asking for divine intervention in Jesus name. Amen.
